No7 Makeup

Hi everyone!

I like to change my foundation allot, I dont know if its because I have not found "the one" or just because I'm picky.  I went to Boots a while back after seeing their advertisement about the little camera what takes multiple photos of your skin to tell you what shade foundation you are. Well this sounded magical to me because I have to say one of my biggest foundation fears is the tide marks around your jaw/ the tangoed look. After the little camera took my picture it was agreed that I was "Cool Vanilla".
I chose the light foundation because I like a really natural finish on my make up. This product also has SPF 15 in which is great.

I apply this on with my fingers as I think I get a better result than a sponge/ brush. the packaging itself is pretty average. I had a voucher for a bit of money off so I only ended up paying about £6/7 for this. I really like the colour the finish is lovely I still put a transparent powder over the top because I hate any type of shine on my face.

I also decided when I was at the no7 counter I needed a blusher. I ended up buying Soft Damson Mineral Perfection Blusher.  This is a beautiful colour and gives me a lovely healthy glow which I appreciate because I have had my aunt tell me I look dead at times. Love the slight glimmer it has it makes you look awake and fresh. The only thing about this is I am a beginner with blusher and this is very pigmented, confidence will come eventually but to me this is very strong so I have to go easy on the application a little goes a long way.

Below are some pictures showing the colours against my skin. They are lovely products and dont cost allot, I would 100% recommend you give them a go at least the foundation. Its not everyday a computer can tell you your exact foundation colour.

Have you tried these before? do you change your foundation as often as me haha?

Round 2 Mini Boots Haul - update on 17 BB Blemish Balm

Hi Guys

If you follow me on Twitter you would have guessed that I ended up going back to Boots the next day on the hunt again for Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in Transparent. I managed to find it yey! third time lucky! but... I also ended up buying a few other bits and bobs.

In my last Boots mini haul I had bought Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch Concealer which I really like but I wanted to try their Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer too. I have to say the Illuminating one is winning for me.

This might be a shock to other beauty bloggers but I have only ever owned a pencil eyeliner, I have always wanted to try a liquid one but I've been too scared. I love the effect along the lash line!... Well there was an offer on if I bought the Seventeen Doll'd Up Mascara I would get a Seventeen 3 way Liquid Eyeliner free, I thought this was an absolute bargain at £5.99 and great for me to test out a liquid Eyeliner :-)

A little update from my previous Mini Boots Haul, I have stopped using 17 BB Blemish Balm I bought I after testing it properly for about a week/fortnight I have decided I don't really like the thick consistency. The colour is ok but I know I can get better shades, I think they should add a extra light shade, it might be better for me in the summer. I have just added it to my pile of slightly used foundations because I often change my mind and go back to an older one just to make sure!

Have you tried any of these products before? What do you think? x

First attempt at Zumba

Hello!

This post is let you know how my first attempt at Zumba went , what I thought of it and why I have started doing more sporty things. I decided about a week ago that I needed to get fit and back into shape. I really just want to feel like my old self, all I do at work is sit at a desk all day its not good for you!

I have started changing what I do at work as much as I can like taking the stairs instead of the lift, buying fruit instead of chocolate, making a packed lunch to try and save money etc. I just want to feel better about myself.

Well to be honest I have no idea why I wanted to try Zumba, I guess its because I have a short attention span and thought this would keep my awake. In my head I imagined a bunch of middle aged women going wild to some random music. Its that and allot more! I was probably the youngest one there, I went with my friend for company who also had never been before.

First thoughts on the hall was that its an average gym hall a few mirrors etc, nothing scary. At the back was a bunch of women. This is a brave move for me because I am quite self conscious in front of other women.

Anyway they were all smiles even if they were in their own little groups. The coach? trainer? tutor? came over and spoke to us to see if we had been to a class before. She was so nice and enthusiastic!

We walked over to where everyone else was and got some mats. I was not expecting needing mats to dance like a loon but I took some, advice was take 2 because the floor was hard ..... it was a wooden floor but oh well to be expected I guess. Next people were rummaging around in a box I noticed they were taking weights which was optional. To me that was a perfect challenge, everyone was taking 1kg, me being me had to be different, I took 1.5kg thinking I was great. I think it was more because they looked newer.

Me and my friend walked to the other side of the room to make space, my aim was to not see myself in the mirror so I could concentrate staring at the coach person. After a few minutes the music started and the coach just turned into a different person bouncing all over the place shaking everything she had whooping and cheering. Wow she was enthusiastic it upped the mood of the whole room.

She just didn't stop, you could tell everyone was practically dying but they kept going to make her happy. It's what you need really, someone to be that positive about things. She was fantastic. I kept going, shook everything I had, looked like a right fool but I didn't care! It took me a few attempts to pick up the moves but I still went for it!

Next was the weights, oh my god!. Clever bugger with the 1.5kg's dancing about, arms nearly falling off but I wouldn't back down, I'm very stubborn like that! Surprisingly my arms are only hurting a little bit today. After the weights was some weird stomach move, sit ups/ crunches I'm ok with but these weird twisty things and hovering your legs just above the floor killed! I better have a six pack after a few months at this!

Over all it was the most I have worked out in a long time even though I do trampolining it works different muscles. I am going back next week and I cant wait the hour went over so fast!

oh and by the way there are no photos for a reason :P

Have you tried Zumba? What sporty things do you do? any motivation tips?

Take care x

Soap & Glory- Kick Ass Concealer

Good evening everyone!

I thought I would do a quick review on Soap & Glory's Kick Ass Concealer!

This product comes in the traditional Soap & Glory packaging which I thing is fantastic it makes there products stand out from the rest. I love how compact this little product is.

Once you open the lid the first part you will notice is the setting powder, there is a small Soap & Glory powder sponge on the top, I have thrown it out misplaced this but I didn't find it any use anyway. I thought when I applied this over the top of the creams it was better done with a brush or my fingers.

Underneath the powder there is a separated section. the pinky side for under your eyes and the yellowy side to use to hide blemishes. There is also a cute mirror for on the go!
The pinky side for under your eyes I don't find that amazing but its still worth a go. The yellowy part for blemishes I find really good I have been using this for a while now and once the setting powder is applied it blends in beautifully. so far this is my favorite product to hide blemishes :-)

Have you tried this product before what do you think? Can you recommend me any other products to hide red marks/ blemishes? x

Quick Primark Shop

Good evening!

Hope you are all well.

Again I went shopping but it was only in Primark so its alright :-)

I have saw nail varnish styles like this loads now but I kept on thinking I would pick it off straight away. I loved the nail varnish colour and the beads to put on the top looked so pretty so for £2.50 I cant complain, I had to buy it. I did have my eye's on a one from Accessorize...

I also bought this red statement necklace, I really love dark reds at the moment and I thought this necklace was so pretty, I got it in the sale for only £1. It makes a jingly noise when it moves which I actually really like. I have wanted a statement necklace for a while but some of the ones I have saw have been horrible. This one caught my eye a while back but I never got round to buying it, glad I managed to find one in the sale!

The last thing I bought in Primark was this hair donut. I love my hair when its up in a big bun, I think it looks really sophisticated, you can dress this look up or down. I have been wearing my hair like this for a while now but I didn't use a hair donut... I was a classy bird and used a clean thick wooly sock! I cut a bit off the end and rolled it up to make the donut shape.

My excuse for this was that I didn't have time to go to the shops and buy a hair donut so I DIY'd one, I have just been using it ever since. I thought it was about time I actually bought one, this one was only £1. Bargain!

Have you ever DIY'd a hair product?, Have you made a sock donut yourself?

Mini Boots Haul

Hi all!

I hope you all had a relaxing sunday!

This is only a mini haul because I whined about having to go plant shopping and spotted a Boots so begged to go inside for 5 minutes! I would have bought a lot more but the things I wanted were not in stock.... I will try later in the week :)

I am not good at buying face makeup quickly but I think I done quite well, I tried a few samples on my hand when I was in store. I don't really know if this is the right way or not but it kept me happy until I got in the car and saw how orange my hand was! I am very pale. I was a little bit concerned on the way home thinking I had just wasted my money....

So as soon as I got home I ran upstairs, used Liz Earle cleanse and Polish to remove what make up I had on then angled a mirror so I was in natural light. I opened the 17 BB blemish balm first. I got this in shade Light. Its quite a small bottle inside packaging is pretty average, it had £2 off at the Boots I was in so it was only £4.99 an absolute bargain. Also another big plus is that it is SPF 25 whoop!

The texture itself is quite thick and you can smell the sunscreen its not unpleasant and once on the skin the smell goes away. At first when I put it on I was a bit gutted thinking it was too dark for me but I persisted and kept on blending. Once my whole face was done the colour was lovely, very natural. I kept double/ triple checking I didn't have any tide marks around my face thats one of my fears about new face makeup! All in all I really like it, I was not left shiny which was the main reason for me looking for a new foundation, I was out with work on friday evening and noticed I was starting to get shiny parts using my old foundation :(

The next thing I used was Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch Brightening Concealer. This took me forever to find in the store! I had been after one of their concealers for ages but every time I went I either forgot/ didn't have enough time or the makeup stand was a mess so I didn't bother. Well this time I was determined to buy one of them I hunted all over the make up part of the store. I found a stand with Collection above it. Looked about then realised actually it might not even be called Collection 2000 any more... it had me confused! the products have Collection 2000 on them so I figured I was in the right part. I really just wanted this for under my eyes because I have currently been using Soap & Glory's Kick Ass Concealer which for the price I think is a great little kit, it doesn't do much for me under my eyes but its a great colour for blemishes.

I bought the Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch Brightening Concealer in shade Natural 2 which surprised me because I am usually the lightest in anything but the first one was practically white so I chose this one. This is fantastic under my eyes I am so pleased I eventually bought one of their concealers I 100% recommend this especially for only £4.99! It blends beautifully and actually hides my dark circles. I used the powder in my Soap & Glory's Kick Ass Concealer to set the rest of my makeup, its basically a translucent powder. The one I wanted they did not have in stock :(

My make up was flawless I was so impressed by both products so even though I thought it was going to be a disaster I thought I did very well. One happy bunny.

Top- Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch Brightening Concealer- Shade Natural 2.
Middle- 17 Blemish BB Balm- Shade Light
Bottom- Rimmel Apocalips- Shade Nude.
The final thing I bought was a must! Everyone has been going on about these so I had to try one. Rimmel Apocalips which was £5.99, I bought this in the shade Nude. How funky is the packaging! I really like the look of these but I have a thing with lip glosses, I cannot stand them being sticky!

Anyway after testing it on my hand I thought it was a lovely colour I was not brave enough to try the rest but I was very tempted. On the drive home I was thinking I should have bought a brighter colour because I thought with the Nude colour on my lips I would look dead because I am pale! Well I quickly tried it in the car at first I didn't like it and was a bit gutted. I loved the texture it's not sticky at all and it feels like a balm in a strange way. I really wished I had been braver and bought a brighter colour.

So once I had finished all my face makeup I applied Rimmel Apoloclips again, the second time round I really like it and I am very pleased I bought it in Nude. It is a lovely natural shade :)

I think I need to be braver and try one of the other colours. Does anyone have a recommendation of which one I should choose?

p.s there is not a photo of Rimmel Apocalips Nude on my lips because I took so many photos and decided I have wonky lips so it wasn't going to happen haha!

Liz Earle- Eyebright

Good evening everyone!

I thought I would do a Liz Earle review on another one of her products what I love. This is the eye lotion which is fantastic! I have dark circles under my eyes nearly all the time and it really bugs me. I get quite tired eyes and it doesn't help that I am constantly working on a computer/ and wearing contact lenses.

I put some of the Eyebright lotion onto some cotton pads and place them on my closed eyes. Straight away its very cooling, soothing my eyes, I have had no problems using this with my contact lenses in and it does mention it on the bottle thats its fine so thats a great bonus! For a 150ml bottle which I have is £10.25 and it seems to be lasting me ages.

On the bottle it says leave it on for 5-10 minutes. I am far too impatient having to wait and i still notice a difference at closer to the 5 min mark. This helps sooth my eyes in the summer too especially suffering with hay fever!

Have you tried this before?
